God’s Glorious Presence at the ASLPN 2018 Prayer Training & Solemn Assembly

Blow the trumpet in Zion, consecrate a fast, call a sacred assembly; Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children and nursing babes; let the bridegroom go out from his chamber, and the bride from her dressing room. Let the priests, who minister to the Lord, weep  between the porch and the altar; let them say, “Spare Your people, O Lord, and do not give Your heritage to reproach, that the nations should rule over them. Why should they say among the peoples,’Where is their God?’

Joel 2:15-17

Once again as has happened since 2010, believers converged from different denominations, ministries, backgrounds, and generations to offer up prayers, praise, and worship to God on behalf of the nation, the church, families, and
many other issues at the ASLPN-organized Solemn Assembly held recently.
The bi-annual event which held at the National Church of God in Fort Washington, MD provided an opportunity for all present to focus on the Lord and cry out for His rule and reign to be enforced, acknowledged, and proclaimed in the nation and in the lives of all participants and their families. The choir, which drew participation from different praise and worship leaders and worshipers, led in worship to the Lord with special renditions and leading by various leaders who all ushered the gathering in songs of adoration and worship to the Lord. The tangible presence of the Lord was very strong and obvious in this year’s Solemn Assembly as people truly rejoiced, prayed and basked in the glory. It was indeed a time for “Open Heavens” Isaiah 64 as was the theme of the gathering. In the Youth Sanctuary of the National Church of God, the youth and young adults had a refreshing and enlightening Youth Solemn Assembly and then joined with the adults in a coming together of the generations in prayer and crying out for the salvation of the generations and for the prodigals to come back home into the Kingdom fold.

Participants came from near and wide within and from outside America. The event was preceded by the National Prayer Training for two days prior to the Solemn Assembly. Attendance at the Training was predominantly from intercessors and prayer leaders from various states. It was a time of reflection and empowerment as the point was emphasized over and over again that we were created with a kingdom mandate to dominate creation as stated in Genesis 1:26; “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.” The theme of this year’s training,“Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven: Mathew 6:10”, was discussed with the view to emphasize the uniqueness, place, and role of Kingdom citizens in promoting the ideals of this Kingdom on the earth and in ensuring that the plan of God for and through this Kingdom is fulfilled as believers consciously live out their lives to reflect and represent the power and authority of the Creator who has vested this in them to bring the earth under His domain and rule.
